About
SkincareClaims exists because most skincare marketing is written to sell, not to inform — and the gap between the two is where money gets wasted and, occasionally, skin gets irritated for nothing.
What we do
For every product we cover, we read the full ingredient list, look at what the published research actually says about each ingredient at the concentrations typically used, and hold every marketing claim up against that evidence. Claims get one of five verdicts — Supported by evidence, Plausible but unproven, Exaggerated, No evidence, or Contradicted by evidence — explained in full on our Methodology page.
What we don’t do
We don’t accept payment from brands in exchange for coverage or a favorable verdict. We don’t use affiliate links to influence which products we choose to review. We don’t collapse a review into a single star rating — the whole point of this site is that different claims on the same product deserve different verdicts.
